Appointed William S. Morris Eminent Scholar in Art
at Augusta University

 

During this academic year I have taken a leave of absence from Herron School of Art and Design to teach and continue my art practice down in Augusta, Georgia as Augusta University’s William S. Morris Eminent Scholar in Art.

“We are incredibly excited about having Professor Agha on campus teaching our students and interacting with our faculty,” Thorp said. “We are lucky to have such a highly respected member of the worldwide arts community here at Augusta University. Smithsonian American Art Museum Fellow for the 2020-21 Academic Year

 

I’m honored to have received the Smithsonian Fellowship and am thrilled to head to Washington D.C. in the summer to work with three different museums for my research; A Place to Call Home.

My research at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Archives of American Art, will include studying major holdings of contemporary artwork, craftwork, and documentation of artists and craftspeople.
